After a friendly welcome from the Crazy Kiln team you choose an item from our array of unglazed pottery (the largest in the area) and get creating. We have over 150 different items of pottery to paint including: plates, mugs, bowls, money boxes, planters, tiles, photograph frames, animal figures to name a few and you have the choice of over 50 different colours and glazes to decorate your pottery with. All our paints and glazes, which are non‐toxic and water based are suitable for all ages. Should you need some inspiration we have a number of books that will help fire your imagination, or you could browse the internet for ideas. We also have stencils, stamps and even ceramic tracing paper to help you realise your design.

Once your painting is complete we will carefully dip your decorated piece in a transparent glaze and fire it in the crazy kiln, to a temperature of 1,000°C. Your masterpiece will be ready for collection no more than a week later.

However, if you can't wait a week many items can be decorated with acrylic paints or Decopatch and you get to take your pottery home the same day.

Prices start from as little as £2.50 and unlike many ceramic studios Crazy Kiln do not charge a studio fee. Your table will be available to you for 90 minutes, however should feel you will need longer please mention this when you book. We can't promise we willl always be able to accommodate your request but we will try our best.

You can also enjoy a hot or cold drink whilst you paint. As we sell a range of drinks we ask that you do not bring in drinks from outside. All our hot drinks are Fairtrade.
